Air Algérie, the national airline of Algeria, is also the third largest airline in the whole of Africa (South African Airways and Egyptair are ranked first and second). Its primary hub is at Houari Boumedienne Airport in Algiers, and it operates a secondary hub at Oran Es Senia Airport in Oran, Algeria. It considers Orly Airport in Paris, France and Mohamed Boudiaf International Airport in Constantine, Algeria to be focus cities.

Air Algérie flies to more than 70 cities in Europe, Africa and the Middle East. Some of the destinations served include Egypt, Libya, Morocco, Tunisia, Burkina Faso, Ivory Coast, Mali, Mauritania, Niger, Senegal, Jordan, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, Syria, United Arab Emirates, Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, Russia, Spain, Switzerland, Turkey and the United Kingdom. Newer routes the airline has added or will be adding include service to Montreal, Canada; Beijing, China and Plaisance, Mauritius.

The frequent flyer program for Air Algérie is called Dziria, and the airline is scheduled to become a member of the SkyTeam airline alliance in late 2007. Air Algérie is already a member of the Arab Air Carriers Organization.
