Cheap Air Canada Flights
Air Canada is Canada’s largest airline and the world’s 12th largest airline (in terms of fleet size). Its headquarters are in Montreal, Quebec and its largest hub is Toronto Pearson International Airport. Other hubs for the airline are Montreal-Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport, Vancouver International Airport and Calgary International Airport. The airline considers Halifax Stanfield International Airport and Ottawa International Airport to be focus cities.
The flag carrier of Canada, Air Canada flies to 240 destinations and also has vacation packages to more than 90 desinations through its Air Canada Vacations program. The airline flies to cities in Canada, the United States, Mexico, Central America, South America, Europe, Australia and Asia. Its subsidiary, Air Canada Jazz, has its own fleet and flies to destinations in Canada and some cities in the United States.
Air Canada is more than just a member of the Star Alliance airline alliance, it is also a founding member. It also codeshares with several major carriers, including United Airlines, Lufthansa, Swiss International Air Lines, Air New Zealand and Austrian Airlines. Air Canada has a history of “firsts” in the airline industry – in 1953 it was the first airline to have a computerized reservation system, it was the first to implement a system-wide non-smoking policy, and was the first to put telephones within arm’s reach of all passengers in all its airplanes.
In early 2007, the airline was voted the best airline in North America by the readers of Global Traveler magazine, so it’s clearly doing something right.
