Cheap Emirates Flights
Emirates Airline is the national flag carrier of the United Arab Emirates and is based in Dubai. Its hub is Dubai International Airport. The airline has been one of the most successful in the entire industry, in its Middle East region and elsewhere, and they continue to expand their fleet, route network and staff like mad.
Emirates is the largest carrier in the Middle East, and with its continued growth it is on track to become the largest long-haul carrier by the year 2012. Some of the major long-haul carriers based in Europe see this as a threat, as they are used to London and Paris (for instance) being the main layover points on long flights between North America and Europe or Asia and Australia. If Emirates succeeds in their goals, Dubai could become just as natural a layover point.
Emirates currently flies to nearly 90 destinations in Africa, Asia, Europe, the United States, Australia, New Zealand and Brazil. The airline is constantly expanding its route network, however, so the number of cities served is bound to increase in the near future.
Emirates is one of many airlines that participates in the frequent flyer program called Skywards – it functions much like any frequent flyer program. Some of the partner airlines are SriLankan Airlines, Continental Airlines, Japan Airlines, South African Airways and United Airlines. Emirates has a mixed fleet of both Boeing and Airbus aircraft, and has 45 of Airbus giant A380s on order. It is scheduled to begin recieving the massive planes in 2008.
