In addition to being the national flag carrier of El Salvador, Grupo Taca is also a group (as the name suggests) of six Central American airlines. Together, the airlines under the Grupo Taca umbrella fly to more than 50 destinations throughout North America, Central America and South America.

Grupo Taca’s six airlines are Aeronica (Nicaragua), Aviateca (Guatemala), Lacsa (Costa Rica), Taca (El Salvador), Taca (Honduras) and TACA Peru (Peru). All but one of the airlines listed here operates as part of Grupo Taca without its own independent flight numbers. The exception to this is Lacsa in Costa Rica. In addition to the airlines under the Grupo Taca umbrella, there are also a few smaller regional airlines in the system as well – Aeroperlas (Panama), Volaris (Mexico), Inter (Guatemala), Islena Airlines (Honduras), La Costena (Nicaragua) and SANSA (Costa Rica). Grupo Taca is considering expanding to other countries in Latin America, including Panama, Argentina and Chile, to compete with other airlines serving the Latin American market.

Grupo Taca’s headquarters are in San Salvador, El Salvador (although it was originally headquartered in New Orleans), and the airline’s hubs are Cuscatlan International Airport in San Salvador, Jorge Chavez International Airport in Lima and Juan Santamaria International Airport in San Jose, Costa Rica. The airline group also uses La Aurora International Airport in Guatemala City and Ramon Villeda Morales International Airport in San Pedro Sula, Honduras as focus cities.

Grupo Taca flies to cities in Canada, Mexico, the United States, Belize, the Cayman Islands, Costa Rica, the Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Cuba, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Panama, Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru and Venezuela. The fleet is made up entirely of Airbus aircraft, and the frequent flyer program is called Distancia. Taca also has partnerships with other airlines like United Airlines, Lufthansa, Iberia Airlines and Air France.
