Jetstar Airways is an Australian low-cost airline, headquartered in Melbourne, Australia. It operates domestic, regional and international flights. Its hub is at Melbourne Airport but the airline also has large operations at Brisbane Airport, Sydney Airport, Gold Coast Airport and Cairns Airport.
The airline was established by Qantas in 2003, as a low-cost subsidiary. Domestic service began in 2004 , while international service began in December 2005. In 2006, Jetstar became the first Australian airline to allow customers to select their seat upon booking.
On all domestic flights, the airline has a buy on board single class service offering food and drinks for purchase. Jetstar offers two classes: Star Class and Economy Class. For the Economy Class passenger, portable in-flight entertainment devices are available for an extra fee; while the Star Class ticket is inclusive of all meals and beverages, in-flight entertainment, and includes baggage allowance of 30 kg.
