Cheap United Flights
United Airlines is one of the biggest airlines in the United States and the world. It’s based in Chicago, and its largest hub is Chicago O’Hare International Airport. With more than 3500 flights per day to more than 200 cities in 30 countries around the globe, United serves most of the world’s airports. In addition to Chicago’s O’Hare, United also has hubs in Denver, Los Angeles, San Franciso and Washington, D.C. United is part of the Star Alliance, currently the largest airline alliance both in terms of passengers served and destinations.
While United can get you pretty much anywhere you want to go (or at least get you close), there are areas where its presence is stronger than others. For instance, it’s the largest US airline flying to Hawaii, Asia and Australia. It’s also one of only two US carriers allowed by law to fly into London’s Heathrow Airport (the other being American Airlines). United is the only US carrier to fly its own planes from the mainland of the United States to Australia, and the only US carrier to fly to Vietnam and Kuwait.
United is working on further developing its routes to Asia, specifically to China, and also to Latin America, where it used to have a stronger route network.
With the rise of more low-cost airlines, United created its own version called Ted. Ted is designed to compete with other US-based budget carriers like Frontier and Southwest Airlines, and is intended to serve mainly a domestic leisure market. Ted flies primarily to locations in the United States and Mexico with nearly 250 flights daily.
