Cheap Flights to Belize

The tiny Central American country of Belize has a few airports to choose from when you are making plans to fly there. The biggest and busiest two airports are in the creatively-named Belize City, with the third serving perhaps the most popular tourist area in the country.

Philip S.W. Goldson International Airport (airport code BZE) is the busiest and biggest airport in Belize, lying roughly 30 minutes outside Belize City. The airport is actually under a relatively constant risk of flooding because it is only five meters above sea level. The airlines serving Philip Goldson airport are listed here, along with the regular arrival and departure schedules. There is some general passenger information here, and information about the shops and restaurants in the airport (as well as the car rental agencies which have airport counters) here.

Belize City Municipal Airport (airport code TZA), also located in Belize City, serves as a hub airport for the two small airlines which connect to all the other tiny airports throughout the country. Those airlines are Maya Airways and Tropic Air, whose destinations from Belize City include Caye Caulker, Placencia, San Pedro, Punta Gorda, and Dangriga. The airport lies only one mile from Belize City center.

San Pedro Airport (airport code SPR) is located on Ambergris Caye, arguably the destination which is most popular with tourists. The airlines serving San Pedro are the same which serve Belize City Municipal Airport – Maya Airways and Tropic Air. The destinations you can reach from San Pedro include Belize City (both airports), Caye Caulker, Caye Chapel, Corozal and Sarteneja.
