El Alto International Airport (IATA: LPB) is the world’s highest international airport and the one of the important airports in Bolivia. It is located in El Alto, near the city of La Paz, Bolivia’s capital. It is hub for Aerosur, Bolivia’s largest private airline. When visiting the country don’t miss biking on The Death Road, a 64km road from La Cumbre to Coroico. La Paz is the highest national capital in the world and definitely worth your time. Don’t miss visiting the Witches’ Market, the Black Market and Calle Jean, which comprises some interesting colonial buildings. There are many museums to visit as well. In contrast cu La Paz, Santa Cruz has a tropical climate and offers the perfect start point for a trip down the Amazon.
