How to Find Cheap Air Travel to/from Cleveland

Travelers to Cleveland have a few of options in terms of airports – the larger Cleveland Hopkins International Airport (airport code CLE), Cleveland Burke Lakefront Airport (airport code BKL) and the small but growing Akron-Canton Regional Airport (airport code CAK). Just so you know, the latter’s website has music playing as a default – you can shut it off easily, but it is something to be aware of if you are surfing in a public setting.

Handy Cleveland Hopkins International Airport Information
This is the largest airport in the state of Ohio, and lies nine miles southwest of the city of Cleveland. It is a major hub for Continental Airlines and its regional carrier ExpressJet, so those are the airlines to check for special travel deals. A complete list of airlines serving Cleveland Hopkins International Airport is located here, and a flight guide with tracking information is here. You will find ground transportation options listed here – hotel shuttles are here, rental cars here, taxis here (along with rates), limousine companies here, RTA bus service here and LCT bus service here. If you are driving to the airport, you will find directions here, and you can save time and money on airport parking in Cleveland.

Handy Cleveland Burke Lakefront Airport Information
Burke Lakefront is situated on the shore of Lake Erie, just north or downtown Cleveland. While most of its passengers arrive via corporate jets or air taxi services, it is set to increase its commercial air service and also plays an important role as a reliever airport for Cleveland Hopkins International Airport. The airport is also the site of the annual Champ Car race the Grand Prix of Cleveland, obviously requiring the airport to close down each year during the race.

Handy Akron-Canton Regional Airport Information
Akron-Canton is about 10 miles from both the city of Akron and the city of Canton, Ohio. It is much smaller than Cleveland Hopkins International Airport, but is one of the fastest-growing in the region. The airport bills itself as “a relaxing alternative to Cleveland Hopkins.” The largest carrier in terms of passenger volume is AirTran Airways, and you can find the list of all the carriers (along with their contact information) here. You will find flight status information for both arrivals and departures here. Ground transportation options are listed here, and directions to the airport are here.
