Find the cheapest flight to Dalaman
If you’ve never heard of Dalaman, don’t worry – you’re not alone. This town, on the southwestern coast of Turkey, is known primarily for its international airport which gets tourists close to the nearby beach resorts like Marmaris, Fethiye, KöyceÄŸiz, Dalyan, Ölüdeniz and Hisarönü. Dalaman Airport (airport code DLM) might be small compared to its counterparts around Europe, but it sees countless tourists pass through every year en route to their beach holidays. Turkish Airlines has daily flights from Dalaman to Istanbul, and Dalaman is also a seasonal base for airlines like Onur Air, Pegasus Airlines and Freebird Airlines.
The Dalaman Airport website does not have a list of the airlines serving Dalaman, but you can track arrivals and departures here. You can also peruse your dining and shopping options here. The shopping and dining options are listed here . Your transportation options include taxi and bus services. The airport website kindly lists standard taxi fares here as well.
More Information on Dalaman
Dalaman might be just a gateway to resort-ville for most, but it’s becoming a destination in its own right as well. With its proximity to a beautiful coastline of its own and environmental protections for a rare turtle that lives in its river, the area is more recently becoming popular with Europeans who are looking for investment properties. Also of note (though perhaps not to the Europeans who are investing in property there), Dalaman is home to one of Turkey’s largest “open prisons,” where the least dangerous prisoners are sent for rehabilitation. It’s unlikely you’ll find that mentioned in the tourism brochure, however.
