Cheap Flights to The Gambia

The Gambia (yes, that is the official name for the country that everyone still called simply "Gambia" instead) has only one airport in the entire country - Banjul International Airport (airport code BJL) in the capital city of Banjul. The airport is also sometimes called Yundum International Airport, and lies roughly 24 km from the city of Banjul.

Banjul International does not have its own website, but there is a profile of the airport on The Gambia's website which includes some of the kinds of things most travelers would want to know, including the airlines which have regularly scheduled flights to and from The Gambia, the airlines which operate charter flights, and the shops and restaurants which are at the airport. You will also find a list of the tour operators which work from the Banjul airport.

The destinations served from The Gambia's airport include many other cities throughout Africa, and a few overseas cities as well. Some of the destinations are Dakar, Freetown, Brussels, Frankfurt, Barcelona, Madrid, London, and Amsterdam. Some of the airlines with regularly scheduled flights to The Gambia are Spanair, Atlantic Airlines, TACV, and Brussels Airlines, and the charter airlines include Thomsonfly, Transavia.com, and Monarch Airlines.

Be sure to check on these deals on international airfare to The Gambia, and then read through our The Gambia Travel Guide to figure out what to do and where to stay once you arrive.

More Information on The Gambia

It is no wonder there is only one airport in the entirety of The Gambia - it is Africa's smallest country. The capital city is one of the main reasons to visit, with interesting architecture and a great setting on a tributary of the Gambia River. There are also more adventurous excursions in The Gambia, including a visit to the crocodile pools.
