How to Find Cheap Air Travel to/from Key West
Key West International Airport (airport code EYW) is located in the famous Florida Keys, a mere three miles from the downtown area. The odd-looking airport code is a result of the letter “K” being reserved for special use, so the airport’s next three letters got used – Key West.
The Key West airport has a particularly short runway (it is on an island, after all), so the weight limits on luggage for departing flights are usually more strict than they are for other airports. In other words, this is not an airport where you want to try to sneak an extra checked bag on the plane.
You may (or may not) be pleased to know that planes can take off and land at Key West as long as the wind speeds are under 40 knots – so not even a storm will keep you from getting where you want to go!
While Key West is not a hub for any airline, you can find a list of the airlines serving this airport here. You can track both incoming and outgoing flights at Key West International Airport here.
