Manila’s Ninoy Aquino International Airport (airport code MNL) is the main international airport in the Philippines. The airport lies about seven kilometers away from the city of Manila and it serves as the main hub for Philippine national flag carrier Philippine Airlines.
The Manila airport’s website is lacking in all the basic information you would want to find, including the airlines which serve the airport. You can get an idea of some of the airlines that fly to Manila here, although it might not be updated. You can check the arrivals and departures in real time. You can also get an idea of the terminals layout here. There are restaurants, cafes and shops throughout the airport, on both sides of the security gates. There are also Duty Free shops to help you get rid of any leftover money as you wait for your flight.
The information about getting to and from the airport is here. You can choose between taxis and buses.
Manila is the Philippines’ busy capital city. Once considered the most beautiful city in all of Asia, the effects of World War II left the city in ruins. It might not be the same city it was before the war – in fact, these days it can be a difficult city to enjoy with the traffic, pollution and poverty – but it is still a city with historic importance, interesting sights and things to keep any traveler happy. Pair all of that with the warmth of the welcoming locals and Manila is definitely worth a visit.
