Moi International Airport (airport code MBA), otherwise known simply as Mombasa Airport, is the primary airport serving the city of Mombasa in Kenya. It lies in the township called Port Reitz (a district of Mombasa), about 10km from Mombasa’s city center, and it is the country’s second largest airport after Nairobi’s airport.

Mombasa Airport was originally a military airfield called Port Reitz Airport, but in the 1970s the government in Kenya decided to expand the airport in order to accommodate larger planes for what they felt would be increased tourism. Their hunch was right, as this airport has continued to grow since the expansion.
