Find the cheapest flight to Murcia

The Spanish city of Murcia – in the region of Murcia – is served by the Murcia-San Javier Airport (airport code MJV), which is both a passenger airport and a military base. The airport is located 17 miles from the city of Murcia and is operated by Aena, the same organization which operates all airports in Spain. It has been a popular airport for charter flights, but more recently it is becoming more popular with budget airlines as well. From the UK alone, passengers have seven airlines to choose from at 17 UK airports. For this reason, it might be cheapest to get a good deal on a round trip flight into a major European hub like London or Paris and then catch a flight on a low cost European airline to Murcia.

More Information on Murcia

Murcia is not a large city, but it is the capital of the region with the same name. It dates back to the 9th century and like many cities in the area it retains some marks of its Moorish past. Unlike some Spanish cities, however, it is only the city wall which remains of the days of Moorish rule. Murcia is a quiet city with plenty of pleasant places to wander, but do not expect to find a robust tourist infrastructure – be prepared to relax and just enjoy a slower pace of life.
