How to Find Cheap Air Travel to/from Omaha
Omaha, Nebraska’s Eppley Airfield (airport code OMA) is not only the largest airport in the state of Nebraska – it also serves communities throughout eastern Nebraska, western Iowa, northern Kansas and parts of Missouri and South Dakota. Eppley is three miles from the central business district of Omaha, but is surrounded on three sides by the state of Iowa – in fact, people coming from downtown Omaha must drive through Iowa in order to get to Eppley. While no airline has a hub in Omaha, Southwest Airlines maintains the largest presence at the airport, so be sure to check with them for special deals in and out of Eppley.
A complete list of airlines serving Eppley can be found here, and a flight tracker is located here for both arrivals and departures. To help you get around the airport, there is a terminal map here. Underneath the map you will see a list of the general passenger services at the airport, but if you click on the links in the yellow box above the terminal map (under the words “Gates” and “Terminal”) you will get to more detailed maps which show where your dining and shopping options are. There is WiFi access on the upper level and concourses, and laptop workstations with high speed internet access on the upper level north and south. Ground transportation options are plentiful, including rental cars (information here), shuttles (information here) and taxis (information here). If you are driving to the airport, directions can be found here, and you can save time and money on Omaha airport parking if you plan ahead and book it in advance.
