How to Find Cheap Air Travel to/from San Diego
San Diego International Airport (airport code SAN) is also sometimes known as Lindbergh Field, and is the second busiest single-runway commercial airport in the world. San Diego is the city from which aviator Charles Lindbergh set off on the first solo transatlantic flight, which is why the airport has had his name associated with it since its dedication in 1928. Because of San Diego International’s proximity to residential areas, a curfew for departures was put in place in 1979 – between the hours of 6:30am and 11:30pm, departures and arrivals are both allowed. Outside those hours, however, only arrivals are allowed. Departures outside the curfew are subject to large fines.
You will find a complete list of carriers serving San Diego International here and a flight tracking is available here for both incoming and outgoing flights. A terminal map is located here, and services provided in the airport are listed and here. The dining and shopping options are also mentioned in the services list. There are some games and activities here which they say are just for kids, but would probably be fun for the kid in all of us. Ground transportation options, including car rental, taxis, limousines and shuttles, can be found here. Directions to the airport are available here, and you can save time and money on San Diego airport parking by booking it in advance.
