How to Find Cheap Air Travel to/from San Jose
There are a few airport choices for travelers to the San Francisco Bay Area – and while the Norman Y. Mineta San Jose International Airport (airport code SJC) might be the smallest airport in the area, it can be a less busy or crowded alternative to San Francisco International Airport. It can also be popular with residents of the San Francisco Bay Area who live outside the city.
San Jose International is located at the north end of the city San Jose, and is conveniently located close to three major freeways – Highway 101, Interstate 880 and Highway 87. Mineta San Jose was once a much busier airport, but after the dot-com bubble burst there was little need for the frequent flights both in and out of the area. The carriers with the busiest schedules today are Southwest Airlines and American Airlines.
