Find the cheapest flight to Vienna

Vienna International Airport (airport code VIE) is Austria’s busiest airport – which might not seem like much, since Austria is such a small country, but Vienna’s central location to both Western and Central Europe can make it a really great option for travelers looking to cover both areas. Be sure to do your homework, however, as it can also be cheaper to fly into another city in the area and take a train or bus to Vienna itself. Vienna’s airport is the hub for Austrian Airlines, the Austrian national carrier, as well as the budget carrier Niki. There are plans to greatly expand the airport to accommodate the increase in passenger traffic; construction began in 2006 and is expected to continue through 2008-2009.

Vienna International Airport is 18 km from the city of Vienna and is sometimes called Schwechat, which is the name of the town it is actually closest to. More Information on Vienna

Vienna is the center of what was once a vast empire – today it is a charming and beautiful city in a small country in Central Europe, well worth some time on a tour through the region. Nearly all the architectural eye candy of ornately decorated buildings left by the Hapsburgs have been turned into great museums, but outdoors in Vienna there are plenty of things to see and do as well. Vienna is the place to experience some of that proverbial “old world charm” you have been reading about for so long.
